Magna is a global famous auto parts manufacturer, its Changzhou plant provides powertrain components for GM, Ford and other OEMs, etc. In 2015, the plant found that the quality of some old production lines was not controllable due to equipment, and a large amount of process data needed to be recorded and queried manually, which could not meet the rapid response to customer problems, and the plant once considered abandoning them. Many software suppliers did not have the development capability of equipment PLC, so it was difficult to realize the automatic data interaction transformation of the old production line. During the implementation of this project, the project team consisted of senior ACC engineers and PLC engineers, and successfully implemented MES on the production line, which is now in stable operation and has eliminated customer complaints. The project has saved MAGNA money for rebuilding or overhauling, and allowed the old production line to bring out the productivity and information level of the new production line.
